Forfeit The Game Version 6.0 - What More Could You Want In a Fansite?
Forfeit The Game is becoming one of the biggest fansites on the net, and with the subject being the biggest band in the world, it's looking to be even bigger...
(FTG) October 18, 2004 -- This November will see the long awaited launch of the all new, revamped and updated Forfeit The Game website.
Rumours of the new look started around late September time, talked about between the webmasters and on the websites messageboards, confirmation was given when an exclusive preview of the new design was released at the beginning of October through the site. Since then more previews have been released through the official preview page: http://www.forfeitthegame.com/preview/.
Version 6 houses tons of new ideas and features from Pete's (webmaster) mind. Just a sample of the new features seen so far are:
-Tour Archive - Every date will have an advanced information page, featuring: Full location details; Other bands at the show; Setlists; Capacity; and any other available information available. (Where applicable for each date).
-Index/News Page - "Quote of the Day", "Picture of the Day" and "Today in Linkin Park History" added to ensure daily updates of the website, so you'll have even more of a reason to check back regularly.
-Events Calender - Addition of a full events calender, featuring tour dates, appearences, releases and any other notable events regarding Linkin Park - Click on dates to view advanced information on each.
In an interview with Pete we revealed some more of the exclusive content to come in version 6:
Linkin Park Timeline - This will be a more advanced version of the calender, ranging all the way back to 2000, listing events such as releases, awards, appearences and anything else worth noting.
-Screenshots - Even more screenshots to be added ontop of the thousand or so already available!
-Gallery - More individual pictures and links to external galleries.
-The Website - Things to be added include more promotional methods, and more about the website and webmaster.
"I want to get as much on the website as I can," Pete said. "It's really that simple, I just want to give the people who come to my website what they want, and what they want is solid content and regular updates. I can offer that better than ever before this time around."
When asked about the popularity of the site, and why he thinks people should choose it, he had the following to say:
"I launched a media player, a tour portfolio, competitions, even an entire online magazine and still I don't see any major progress in the logs, it's becoming a bit tedious, but it inspires me to work that little bit harder to get the visitors."
"It's one of the top 3 Linkin Park websites in most fans eyes nowadays. I know there's not a lot more to ask, but you can always go that little bit further, push to be that little bit better and get to where you want to be. I think when the band themselves see it and comment on it, then I'll feel I've achieved that little bit more that I'm hoping for, I doubt it's gonna happen though."
"I think people should choose it because I believe it's the best site on the web right now. But hey, I'm the owner, I'm obviously biased!" He exclaimed jokingly. "In all seriousness though, I think what I offer is what most other fansites can't, and that's why people sould choose the site. I'm not saying ditch all you know and follow my website, but give it a chance, I'm sure you'll be impressed just by the sheer amount we have to offer."
Be sure to keep a close eye on the website early next month, and don't miss out on the launch of version 6! Check out http://www.forfeitthegame.com/preview/ for the latest news, updates and previews.
