Another Fan Looks at Forfeit The Game

Shreyas Puranik (7th November 2004) -- There are millions of sites on the web, which claim to be real fan sites, devoted to fans of a cause. But there are very few sites, which actually keep to their claim. One of the sites is Forfeit The Game, a website designed and owned by Pete Crewdson who gives up his spare time to give something back to the band through his website.

The site is one of few on the web that fans can rely on to bring exclusive media and news as soon as it’s leaked. It was only recently that Forfeit The Game brought the news of Collision Course before the official website. But how is the site different from any other fan site? The answer is simple- it’s a dedicated and honest work, which has taken time to nurture and is now a household name to nearly all Linkin Park fans.

Each day, the site is updated. Be it with band news, chart news or site updates, you can rest assured that someone is there to keep you up to date. But the site goes beyond giving its users a update on the band. It goes to great lengths to bring rare audio and video content that is not found anywhere else. Currently, users can access all of Linkin Park’s music videos on the site for free and some rare high quality live videos from as recent as 2003. And if that is not enough to wet any fans tongue, Forfeit The Game offers users wallpapers for their desktop.

But the best is yet to come as Pete Crewdson has revealed his plans to give the site the new look with Version 6 just round the corner. From the previews, we can see the site going from strength to strength as a new flash site is also being brought into the scene to support the current HTML site.

Already, the site is working wonders with its unique Collision Course player which offers more to fans that any other website. Users can listen to an exclusive version of Numb/Encore as well as read some reviews of the album-the latter being a FTG exclusive. The site also has its own Message Board where users can give their opinion about current issues surrounding the band.

Roll on V6.0.
